The Anglican Students' Fellowship, University of Ibadan was inaugurated on the 5th of February, 2000 by Ven (Dr.) Adams Onuka, the then Chaplain of the Chapel of the Resurrection, University of Ibadan on behalf of the Bishop of Ibadan-North Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev. (Dr.) 'Segun Okubadejo.

Membership, Affiliation and Doctrinal basis

We students who by free choice are members of the Anglican Communion, knowing the Biblical imperative and great benefit of Christian fellowship, now come together in a common bond of Christian faith, hope and love under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is to be noted, however, that membership is open to all students (Anglicans and non-Anglicans) in the University of Ibadan and its environs.

The Fellowship is affiliated to the the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), A.S.F. on other campuses and other Christian bodies that uphold her doctrinal basis.

The Biblical faith of the church is as expressed in the Apostles' creed, the Nicene creed and the 39 articles of faith emphasizing:
  • the need for personal knowledge of God and acknowledgement of Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour;
  • the need to live holy and upright lives, following in the footsteps of Jesus and reflecting the glory of God; and
  • the infilling and working of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian.
